About Us

Byler Elite Strength Training has been in business since 2012; June 15, 2012 to be exact. I first wrote the letters BEST in a note book about a month before that while I was at an internship in Hudson, MA. I was worried the name of my business was going to sound too silly so I wasn’t a fan at first, but people encouraged me, and here we are. Our current location is the third location since starting, so we have been on the move!

As the founder of the business and director of the programs here at BEST, my interests in athletics, movement over muscles, and life-long behavior change are at the forefront of how we teach BESTies to succeed:

I believe every person is an athlete; we each fall on a continuum between people like Michael Jordan and babies. The point is that we all do the same kinds of movements, and each of us needs training programs and coaching that meets us where we are. But all of us bend, squat, push, pull, and rotate our way through life - the better we do those things the better we feel.

We LOVE using our unique understanding of movement to restore posture and joint motion. This is one of the main differentiators at BEST. You can expect to train hard with us, but you’ll breathe well, move through full ranges of motion, and recover properly.

From a behavior change standpoint, we teach life is change. In fact, we can’t not change, and making “deep changes” are more sustainable and produce a wide-range of growth rather than the easy-way-out “life hacks” and “quick fixes”

Who Trains at BEST?

BEST trains two types of athletes:

  • General Public – Above anything else, we love helping you find your why. Whether you’re maintenance training or recovering from surgery or injury, we want to come alongside your goals and hold you accountable.
  • Athletes – We are experts at developing strength, power and speed mechanics for youth athletes (ages 10-18). If you are a parent of an athlete or an athlete yourself looking for a place to develop athletic abilities, BEST will introduce a comprehensive strength and conditioning program. This program makes athletes bigger, faster, stronger and more confident in competition and life in general.

Philosophy

Effort

Effort is the underlying factor for all things we aspire to do. Most often, passion and success is preceded by consistent choices to put forth both physical and mental effort even when things seem bleak or boring. We refer to this as the grind. During the grind your mind will say this is boring or this is not working, but continuous effort creates results.

Passion

Passion can become the driving force on the road to attaining goals and ultimately success. It is too difficult to find success when there is not strong enthusiasm for the efforts being made. You must know “why” you want something before you can attain it and you have to remind yourself of it every day.

Success

Success is the result of putting forth continuous effort and knowing your passion. Success is only an outcome. If we can focus on correct behaviors (Effort) and enthusiastically believe in the process (Passion) then we can have the desired outcomes (Success).

“There is no talent here. This is hard work, this is an obsession. Talent doesn’t exist. We are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone. If you put in the time, you will reach the top and that’s that. So, I am not talented, I am obsessed”
